Your committee is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. Any paid up member of the U3A can stand for a position on the committee.

I discovered and joined u3a 3 years ago. I initially joined the committee and took over Speaker Administration and became Vice Chairman. I took over as Chairman when Jamie Nicholls needed to stand down.
I work as a business coach, supporting women and helping them to build confidence. I also work with fused glass - making jewellery and pictures and running workshops at my studio in Heathfield. I love being part of the Heathfield Community.
I run The Antiques & Collectables Group and also the Creative Writing Group.Creative Writing 4 Fun.
Jamie Nicholls - Ex Chairman
Jamie has been a member of Heathfield u3a since it started in 2014. Since then he has been vice-chairman and subsequently chairman for many years. He is a retired GP and lives in Rushlake Green.
Treasurer . Jan Riddle is our Treasurer
Jan is a very experienced book keeper and looks after the finances of the group.
She is also the group leader of Garden Visits
WebMaster Mike Gerli is our Website Manager
Mike has extensive experience in IT and website management. He has recently taken over the update and maintenance of our website.
Speaker Selection Sue Benson is our Speaker Administrator
Sue has worked for many years as a Stage Manager, as an Editorial Coordinator and more recently as an Assistant Operations Manager at a local soap manufacturer.
She has always enjoyed organising and researching. She is also keen to give back to the community and she is a volunteer at a local children's charity.
After a successful stint as Business Secretary she has recently taken over the role of Speaker Admin. If you have any ideas for future speakers, she would be delighted to hear from you.
Sue with her husband Keith has recently taken over the Historical Inns Group.

Lesley's career was in IT, leaving that to concentrate on building her business. She now combines that with blogging about food and trying to fit in all the other things she is interested in - mainly books, science and gardening.
Lesley is the group leader for the Cooking Up A Storm group.
Business Secretary Secretary - Maggie Barr
Maggie is an experienced administrator and has recently joined the committee to take over the role of secretary.
External Liaison Tim Williams
Tim is a retired Surgeon and Chairman of Heathfield First Responders.
He has been a member of u3a since it was formed and has held various posts including Vice-Chairman. He has recently taken on the new role of External Liaison and takes part in a newly formed hub of East Sussex u3a groups.
Tim runs the History Group.
Groups Co-ordinator Fiona Godwin
Fiona has lived in Heathfield for 25 years, I work as an invigilator during exam times and run my own card business.
She is one of the two U3A Group coordinators and I help members create and grow the many interest groups.
Tea Rota Hilary Elphick
Hilary and her team organise our refreshments at monthly meetings. She is always looking for people to join the tea rota.
Hilary has been a member of Heathfield u3a since its inception and loves the organisation, the people in it and all the interest and activity groups.
An ex-teacher for over 20 years, Hilary used to live in Heathfield, and moved to Horam about 6 years ago.
