Well what a lot of disappointing selection of recipes I chose for us to make in July!
First up was an Ajo Blanco Dressing from the usually ever reliable Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, his book How To Eat 30 Plants In A Week.
It was extremely bland. I added several flavourings to it to try and rescue it, but it was OK at best.
Then we made another recipe from the same source, Sunflower & Oat Cream. Also very bland and certainly not something I would take any trouble to make.
After that, we did another Hugh recipe that I've successfully made before. Creamy. Lemony Minty Courgettes. But it just wouldn't work and was just watery courgettes. Sigh
The only recipe that had any merit was Soft Boiled Eggs in Dukkah. I'd made this on a day at Ashdown Manna cookery school, the Middle Eastern one. Many many glorious recipes were made that day!
