After our summer break the poetry group will be meeting again on Tuesday October 1st at 10.30.
We will look at a poem suitable for the season, “To Autumn” by John Keats. It is a beautiful poem, a celebration of the season, that brings alive the sights, sounds and feel of nature. We will see how, through his words, he conveys his ideas. We will also look at other autumn poems showing different visions of the season.
We will meet at the leader's home.

We welcome new members to the group.
The poetry group meets monthly to enjoy and learn more about the subject.
The format of the sessions will be decided by the group members, but I envisage that we could have a subject to discuss each session either a poet’s work e.g. Shakespeare’s sonnets or poems with a theme e.g. nature, old age,the seasons. We may follow this with members reading or reciting a poem of their choice which the group can discuss.
